Details

The International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) is a three-and-a-half-year doctoral program offered jointly by the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG), the University of Cologne’s Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Benefits

The successful applicants for the Ph.D. scholarship position will receive the following benefits:

• financial support for up to 42 months
• funds for stays abroad, fieldwork, conference trips, or transcription costs
• a six months wrap-up postdoc upon successful completion of the program allowing additional time for publishing or teaching and applying for postdoc positions
• excellent courses in economic sociology and political economy for exceptionally talented students

Eligibility

To be eligible for Ph.D. scholarship positions, applicants must:

• Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, Organisational Studies, or related fields
• Excellent proficiency in English language
• Students of any nationality are eligible to apply
