Asian Development Bank Scholarship

Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP) for developing countries in Asia and the Pacific for International Students to Study Abroad. Fully Funded Scholarships

Students are invited for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP) belonging to developing countries in Asia and Pacific in ADB selected universities.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP) offers about 140 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP) will cover:

  • Full tuition fees
  • A monthly allowance for expenses, housing, books and instructional materials
  • Medical insurance and travel
  • For research scholars, a special grant may be available for thesis preparation
  • In some cases, computer literacy, preparatory language and other similar courses may be covered

Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP) are available to citizens of the following countries/areas:

  • Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Niue, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Viet Nam

Applicants are required to meet the following eligibility criteria for Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarships and Japan Scholarships Program (JSP):

  • National of an ADB borrowing member
  • Have Unconditional Offer Letter of admission to an approved MA course at participating academic institution
  • A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with excellent academic record
  • Minimum of two years of full-time professional working experience
  • Proficiency in English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Not more than 35 years old at the time of application. In very few exceptional cases, for programs which are appropriate for senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old
  • Generally in good health and state of mind
  • Agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program
  • Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for scholarship
