Acceptance Packet

The letter of acceptance, the welcome letter, the admission certificate (if required for visa purposes), and the arrival information sheet as well as the course registration and academic schedule are all included in the acceptance packet. Courses

A variety of courses are offered in English by individual colleges and departments, along with courses specially designed to offer a new perspective and understanding of Korea.
The list of courses taught in English will be available in January for the following spring semester or July for the following fall semester.
The normal course load for students at KNU is 5-6 courses (which is usually 18 Korean credits). Most KNU classes are three-credit courses and in order to get three credits in KNU, students have to complete 45 hours of studies (3 hours × 15 weeks). (1 course = 3 US credits, 45 class hours per semester, including exam period)

  • Undergraduate: The maximum number of credits that undergraduate students can take per semester is 18 credits (six courses) including three internship credits.
  • Graduate: The Maximum credit that graduate students can take per semester is 9 credits (three courses) including three internship credits.

K-SAC (Korean Society and Culture) Program

The “K-SAC (Korean Society and Culture) Program” was introduced by the College of Social Science at Kyungpook National University. The program offers courses from a variety of majors in the Social Sciences, including Political Science and Diplomacy, Sociology, Psychology, and Media Communication, and awards certificates to students who complete at least four courses in accordance with the program’s requirements. courses from the required elective courses program. Internship

  • The main language of communication is English. The tasks given to the students change depending on their unique backgrounds, abilities, and the particular needs of the host organization. Every business has its own set of requirements and standards. Remember that the Global Internship Program is an unpaid experience and does not grant academic credits.

Housing

All exchange students are automatically assigned to a shared room (double room) in one of several on-campus dormitories. The dormitory fee for one semester varies depending on the requested meal plan and can range from around USD$500 for no meal plan to USD$1000 for three meals per day at the dormitory cafeteria.

Korean National Health Insurance Service (NHIS)

Any international students who is staying in Korea holding a D-2 visa is subject to a mandatory subscription to National Health Insurance from March, 2021. According to the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), the generic cost for international students is around KRW 71,520 ($60) the exact cost will be available on your monthly bills. Once you enroll, you can receive various benefits including dental and oriental medical treatment, health checkups, and pregnancy and childbirth-related medical expenses as the Korean citizens receive.
