 Public Safety

The University of New Haven Police Department is the first private college or university in the state to earn Tier I and Tier II accreditation from the State of Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council. Accreditation reassures students, their families, faculty, and staff of the high quality of the department. It is also important because the department serves as a model for students at the University’s distinguished Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.

Accredited law enforcement agencies demonstrate excellence in management and service delivery, and earning this distinction is a testament to the department’s leadership and all of the University’s dedicated officers, who work tirelessly to keep our campus community safe.
