Scholarships are awarded for the Diploma Course of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.

The Diploma Course includes:
1.) A General Module
2.) A Professional Module: Hospitality Management or Tourism Management
3.) An Elective: Entrepreneurship or Teacher Training.

ITH Scholarships Application Process

Students may attend ITH by private means or through scholarships given by the Austrian Development Cooperation.

Limited number of scholarships are offered every year by the Austrian Development Cooperation. Please be aware that being offered a scholarship is not automatic and very competitive.

Procedure

  1. Get information about ITH at the website or from an Austrian consulate or embassy
  2. Download ITH application form or write a inquiry to office@ith-salzburg.at.
  3. Application Process – all applications should be sent directly to the Institute via email or postal service.
    The submission deadline is the 31st of March 2024 (all applications have to be received by the ITH office the latest by 31st of March 2024)
  4. You will receive a confirmation by email that you application has been received and processed.
  5. Confirmation – You will be informed about the result of your application in May 2024. If you are awarded a scholarship you will receive a letter of acceptance.

Tips For a Succesful Scholarship Application

  • Fill out the application form properly and legibly.
  • Make sure you supply all the required information and attach the entire required documents.
  • Send translated English or German documents if required.
  • Check your email regularly and include a working e-mail address and phone number
  • Apply on time. Applications after 31st March 2024 will not be processed.
  • Provide all admission requirements (read the ITH application form, and visa process carefully).
  • Clarify any doubts with the ITH office and the Austrian embassy/consulate
  • In your motivation letter make clear why you are interested in the program and why you should receive a scholarship.

The Scholarship Includes

  • Transfer: Transfer from the airport to the hostel and back to the airport when leaving.
  • Visa fee: The visa fee has to be paid by the applicants. The fee for the 8,5-month residence permit is €160.
    The fees for the entry visa (Visa D) are different, please contact your embassy for detailed information.

Residence Permit

After being admitted to the Institute, students have to apply for a „Residence Permit“ (Aufenthaltsbewilligung Schüler) at the Austrian Embassy in their home countries in order to be able to study in Austria.

The applicant has to provide the following certified documents in German or English:

  • Official confirmation letter from the Institute
  • Birth certificate (German translated copy is required)
  • Document proving your permanent residency if you do not well in your home country. Please be aware that holders of EU residence permits are not eligible for scholarship
  • An extract of criminal records
  • A copy of financial resources for one academic year (or scholarship confirmation)
  • A fully completed residence permit application form
  • A copy of your passport (valid at least until three months after the end of the course)
  • 1 passport photograph
  • Travel insurance (from your traveling date until the end of the Visa D)
