Netherlands Government Scholarships 2024 

Applications are invited for the Netherlands Government Scholarships 2024. The closing date to apply for the Netherlands Government Scholarships is different for each university.  The Dutch Government Scholarships Program is a fully funded scholarship program in the Netherlands. This Holland Government scholarship aims to help advance individuals’ and organizations’ skills, knowledge, and successes in higher education, job training, and other fields about important international issues.

On July 1, 2017, the Netherlands Fellowship Programs (NFP) transformed, launching a new initiative known as the Orange Awareness Programme. The Orange Awareness Program aims to positively impact a global village and promote the equitable and sustainable development of local communities. International students and mid-career professionals in particular nations are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the Netherlands government.

NL Scholarships are created and completely supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs as government scholarships for overseas students. Scholarships for both full-time and part-time Master’s degree programs for a bachelor’s degree are available from the Netherlands. A large variety of Master’s Degree programs and Short Course areas are offered at several participating Dutch universities. The master’s degree program lasts twelve to twenty-four months, while the short courses last two to twelve weeks. Don’t pass up this chance to receive full scholarships for your studies.

About This Scholarship

This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.

Tuition Fees

Fees for EU/EEA students

The annual tuition fee (statutory fee) is € 2,530 for the academic year 2024-2025. Students are eligible to pay this fee if:

• they are from an EEA country, Switzerland or Surinam;
• they have not yet obtained a similar degree from a government-funded Dutch university or university of applied science.

Fees for non-EU/EEA students

For students of other nationalities, the average tuition fee for bachelor’s programmes is between € 6,000 and € 15,000, and for a master’s programme between € 8,000 and € 20,000.

Application fees

At some Dutch institutions, non-EEA students or students with no prior Dutch education, have to pay an application fee or handling fee when applying for a study programme. These fees range from € 75 to € 100.
Fees and conditions vary by institution. Always make sure to check with the Dutch institution of your choice if you have to pay an application fee. Some institutions will give you a refund of the handling fee when you enrol at the institution.

Orange Knowledge Program

The Orange Knowledge Programme aims to contribute to a society’s sustainable and inclusive development. Its scholarships are open to mid-career professionals in specific countries. A new application round for OKP scholarships will open for applications between 28 June – 5 September at 16.00 CET. OKP-LPDP: StuNed Joint Scholarship Program

In 2021, Nuffic Neso Indonesia, Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) and the Directorate General of Higher Education – Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (DIKTI) agreed to collaborate in a joint scholarship programme through its StuNed Scholarship and DIKTI-LPDP Scholarship programmes. In 2022, this collaboration has been integrated into the Orange Knowledge Programme.

The OKP – LPDP joint scholarship programme aims to optimize the resources that the collaborating organizations have by focusing on specific areas that are mutually relevant and important to Indonesia’s development priorities, the development of key expertise in the Dutch knowledge sector, and the bilateral cooperation agenda of the two countries.

Student Life

Although the buildings of a single university might be spread throughout a city and only some higher education institutions have campuses, they do have a real student culture.

Each institution has a network of associations that bring students together for academic activities, sports and recreation. All of these associations are run by students, and some of them are internationally oriented. Two of the larger international student associations are AIESEC and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).

Many cities also have several separate student associations, not connected to any institution. And there are usually pubs, restaurants and other meeting places where many students hang out.

Generally speaking, the Dutch higher education community seeks to be part of society and is not isolated from it.

Language Requirements

You must speak, read and write English well. You must have passed an English language test. IELTS and TOEFL are commonly accepted, but institutions may accept other tests as well, like Cambridge English.

• You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
• You meet the specific requirements of the institution of your choice. You can find these on the website of the institution.
• You do not have a degree from an educational institution in the Netherlands.

Nuffic or programs managed by Nuffic may not be involved in activities involving unacceptable behaviour. It can be about interpersonal or financial misconduct or abuses of power. Nuffic has an Integrity Code of Conduct to combat unacceptable behaviour. In addition, activities involving the following situations/behaviours are considered unacceptable:

• bankruptcy, insolvency or winding-up procedures;
• breach of obligations relating to the payment of taxes or social security contributions;
• conduct related to a criminal organization;
• money laundering or terrorist financing;
• terrorist offences or offences linked to terrorist activities;
• irregularity;
• creating a shell company;
• being a shell company.
